Soon, soon I shall be free of the beast. For well over a decade now I’ve been plagued by a demon I could not escape. There was no respite–even the breaks between vicious bouts were but reminders of how badly I needed to be free.
And soon I shall have my chance.
Are they good books? Yes. Are they great books? I don’t know — I just know that I must finish this, and that this year that may actually be possible.
less than a year to finally end the grinding wheel of time…anyway, hopefully it will be good

I’ll join you in that wish. Also, that the release date doesn’t slip much. I’m pretty hopeful on both counts — you can follow read Brandon Sanderson’s blog (the guy who is working on it since RJ died) and read his other work.
It seems like he’s on schedule with writing, and as for quality, his other stuff is /excellent/. I’ve been very happy with all his other fiction so far, so I’m almost looking forward to it more than if RJ was finishing it himself.

Do you still reread all of them before reading the new one?

Yup, I have to — though the last book I haven’t even finished yet. And it looks like my plan was thwarted after all. This final book is looking like it will actually be /three/ books. Oh well, I’ll buy them all and read the whole thing one final time. I’m not going to read the series through again unless it is finally and truly complete.

I didn’t read any of this, though I did want to say hi. Hi. Happy 4th from your past.

Good to hear from you, Chris! Of course, with no email in the form, it’ll be awful hard for me to reply if you don’t come back and see this page. If so, reply again with your email (it won’t show up on the site, but I’ll get it).
