One common complaint leveraged against Macs is that everything costs money.  While that’s certainly not true and there are a ton of good GPL or otherwise free programs for Macs, in general, I do find that there’s a lot more pay-software that does something I want than in the linux or windows world where freebies are more common.  That said, if you’re going to buy Mac software, at least get a good price.  MacUpdate is running a promotion that’s a blatant ripoff of MacHeist (indeed — they’ve actually collabtorated and MacHeisters could get access to an even better version of the same bundle) where you can pick up 7-10 (it looks like 8 is pretty much guaranteed at this point) applications for one flat price.  Pretty good deal if you’re interested in even two or three of the apps.
