Being that I officially have to go picture crazy now, it’s time to replace our aging Canon Powershot SD230. It’s been a great camera over the years, but some time ago the mode selector switch busted on it, so it was impossible to record movies or review and delete photos after they were taken. While the Rebel XT has been a great camera for us, some times you just want a quick point and shoot. After searching around and looking for good deals, I stumbled upon a scheme that seemed way too crazy to succeed.
- Staples price matches 110% off the difference between any competitor and sells the SD800 for $349.98
- Office Depot has in-store pricing on the SD800 right now for $279.99 (look online and choose a local store for pickup to see that price)
- Difference is $69.99, with 110 percent is $76.99
- New price is now $272.99
- Search on ebay for a $50 off $200 coupon from Staples (cost me about $1.50)
- Total money spent:$272.99-$50+$1.50+$13.94 (tax) ~= $240
And sure enough, it actually looks to have worked. If you want to see all the current pics, they’re on wienspix.com.
