I was pondering the other day how ironic that it is that I’ve always hated the topic of geography. By name I ought to be fated to be a fanatical geography buff. Take the individual components of my name and their meaning:
- Jordan - The river or country, take your pick
- Kyle - From a Scottish surname which was derived from Gaelic caol meaning “narrows, channel, strait”
- Wiens - According to family lore, it’s either mis-pronounced, or mis-spelled, or maybe even correct, but that depends on which great-uncle you ask. Probably from the original German for the city of Vienna — presumably where my great^x grandparents wandered through some centuries ago
Ok, sorry, not all that interesting to anybody but me, but then again, it isn’t their name, it’s mine.
