I’m not yet totally gone from the blog.  I realize I’ve been neglecting thisl poor little sprout and it is approaching a shrivelled husk instead of the vibrant sapling it should be.

So quick summary of things:

We were’t quite last place, nor were we 1st place, but third.   Too bad our name was banking on one of those two options.  The prequalifier competition for the Defcon Capture the Flag was amazing.  Those Kenshoto guys sure do know how to throw a hacking party.  They did such a great job putting it on.  At some point I’ll have some more detailed writeups about my favorite parts, but for now suffice to say it rocked.

Also.  I’m constantly annoyed by one minor difference between Firefox on linux and windows.  Control-backspace.  On windows, it deletes (as most everything in windows does) word-at-a-time.  In linux, it deletes the entire line.  I’ve got Ctl-a/Delete if I want to wipe the entire line, thank you very much.  I constantly want to remove just the end of a url and re-type some other part.  Well, with this tweak, I finally can.

In case anyone wants to try out the challenges, one of the other guys on my team has put up a webpage describing the challenges along with the answers. Enjoy!
