Two old friends are leaving me this week. The first is my colo server. With an uptime of 400 days, she’s been a reliable ole’ nag, and I’m going to miss her. Of course, I am replacing her with a newer, younger, faster, prettier version as is so common these days. The newer server has all the right things in the right places, and should make my life much easier in running my hobby hosting business.

More importantly, however, my office-mate Andrew is leaving the safe confines of college with a masters in hand, heading into the wide world of commerce. He’s got what sounds like is going to be an excellent job at Citrix doing code audits as a part of their secure coding team. I know he’s looking forward to it, and I’m excited for him. Andrew, you know everybody at the office will be wishing you the best of luck. Of course, we’re holding Rachel (his girlfriend) hostage here at UF, so we know he’ll be back to visit. Muhahaha!

Citrix (CTXS) eh? All I know about them is that I bought their stock back in 2003 and held it for several months before cashing out with a decent gain. Where is he moving?

AWww you wrote about me. I was reading the slashdot article about setting up fake blogs and filling them up with bs advertisement journal entries when your blog came to mind!

Oh, great choice of friggin’ picture!

Nice to know you thought of me in such a positive context. ;-)

I thought you’d enjoy it. I thought about linking one of the staid, boring, office-shots we took, but this is how I’ll always remember you.
