I don’t know about the rest of you, but this holiday season has really felt like the holidays for me. I’m getting the biggest present I’ve ever received, and while it’ll be a few months before we move in, it certainly helped make Christmas more festive for me.
I hope you and yours have a wonderful Christmas and enjoy whatever (if any) breaks and vacations you get.
Also, I was really meaning to turn this into a full post earlier, but I want to encourage everyone out there to give of your time and your resources. We (most of my readers anyway) really do live in an amazingly rich culture and would do well to share in any way possible. Not all of us have obvious opportunities, but there are still so many out there. Jaime and I have couple of ways we like to give back, but we honestly should be doing more. It’s all well and good for me to be principled in my beliefs and care for people in my (for instance) political views, but I’d darn well better be consistent in those beliefs and care for them in more direct ways. Too many Christians are hypocrites, espousing Love without living Love, and too often that is me. I hope I can keep scrambling against the comfortable temptation to withdraw from the those in the world that matter the most to God.
you bought a new house?
