Jaime and I have spent way too much time apart in the last six months in our opinion, so we’re rewarding ourselves a bit. We rented a house on Amelia Island, north of Jacksonville near Georgia for three nights, have some friends from Atlanta coming to stay for part of the time as well, and are basically planning on relaxing to the extreme.

When we first made it into town, we drove to the realtors office, picked up the keys and went to the house and realized when we opened the door that someone else was already living there. Oops. Called the realtor back and they told us they had accidentally overbooked (for the record, we were the first booking of the house) and would have to give us a different house. Of course, the one we got instead ended up being much nicer, and directly on the beach instead of a half-block away from it. Quite a good deal indeed. So now, we spent the evening hanging out on the beach; me running around like a mad-man in the water, body-surfing and generally wearing myself out while Jaime collected sea-shells on the sea-shore.

After a great dinner out on the patio, we’re sitting here, relaxed as we’ve been in a long time. Jaime is doing a crossword puzzle (we printed some out ahead of time and brought them with us) and I’m chilling with my new laptop, surfing the web over the net via my cell phone.

Oh yeah; got the mp3 player in the house broadcasting to the stereo system (well, we did until the batteries in the car-adapter died), so we’re chilling to good music as well. Now though, with the sliding glass door shut, the radio is a bare murmor compared to the crashing of the waves. Yeah, I think we’re gonna enjoy this one.

Waiter? I’ll have what he’s having.

…Now it is evening and you two are probably relaxed to the max and getting ready to sleep in for a long, long time.
How’d you come up with this idea and decide on Amelia Island? I definately give you props for what seems like creativity to me.

That looks beautiful. Hope you two have a great time. Is Jaime done with her rotations, then?

Not yet unfortunately. She does, however, have a one week break (almost done), and four weeks of a rotation in Gainesville (just about to start). Then there’s four weeks in Jacksonville, and everything from that point on will be at home.
