After 10-odd years of watching the NFL, I just realized that Missouri has two football teams. Two! Missouri! Weird.

Yup, and two baseball teams, too. Though St. Louis and Kansas City are reasonably sized cities. But what really amazes me is that you’ve only been watching football for a decade or so.
Another reason Florida is so cool… it has three, which puts it in a tie with California for most NFL teams in a state. Although, it is probably better to have just one (or two) consistantly good team in a state than three perennially mediocre teams.
John - I didn’t watch football seriously until I started playing football video games; prior to that, I had to real means or desire to learn all the myriad rules and strategies of the game, making it unspeakably boring to me. “Move the ball 30 feet. Okay, I can handle that. ‘Illegal man downfield’… what the hell does that mean?” Oh yeah, right about that time, the Bucs stopped sucking, too.
However, both Kansas City and St.Louis are barely in the state of Missouri. About half of St.Louis is actually in IL, and half of Kansas City is in Kansas.
And I’ve got to agree with Scott, even if you discount the Super Bowl win last year they’ve had pretty good teams the last few years. You have to remember that the Jags are a young team, and the Bucs aren’t exactly old (though after two decades I think we can consider them a long-lived team). And hey, though the last few years have been pretty poor for the ‘phins, we have a pretty storied past.

Perennially mediocre?? Does the phrase “super bowl champions” mean anything to you?

lol. Yes, of course, but it is starting to seem like last year may have been an outlier year for them.

But the stadiums themselves are in Missouri.
