A general rule of thumb I picked up from my dad is to talk myself down at anything I do. For the things I suck, I’ll honestly and truly point out I suck and no one’s ever surprised when I fail horribly. When I occasionally do well, it’s a pleasant surprise (usually to myself as well) and plus, it’s always better to have people underestimate you in any sport–especially if it’s competitive.

Tonight we went out bowling with some friends. I’ve probably bowled 5 times in the last 10 years, but I do know I’ve scored 100+ before, so I’m not horrible. Tonight though I could have fooled you into thinking I was a regular. At least for the first 5 frames. I had two strikes in a row, a spare, and two more strikes, before the reality (that is, I’m not good) settled in and I began to achive much more realistic scores. I did manage one more strike and spare later on just to prove it wasn’t entirely over, and ended with a 165. Given my complete lack of experience I was amazed. I made sure to get a printout of the score as proof as I, least of all anyone else, would have a hard time believing it otherwise.

I bowl about as often, and I end up in the 120s or 130s if I’m really lucky, and have what feels like a dislocated shoulder the next day.

Yeah, I have gotten around 120 before, but I generally despise bowling personally. Even have a shirt (got it for Christmas) that says, “bowling sucks,” in nice felt letters.

You know, that’d make a good bowling shirt.

Connor: Basiclly the rule of thumb here is…
Woman: Wait, rule of thumb? In the early 1900’s it was legal for men to beat their wives, as long as they used a stick no wider than their thumb.
Connor: Can’t do much damage with that then can we? Perhaps it shoulda’ been the rule of wrist.

so what does boondock saints have to do with bowling??

Nothing at all, except I happened to title it rule of thumb and later thought about that quote and wanted to spread the love.

Exactly! You must always spread the word of ‘Boondock Saints’!! =)

And shepherds we shall be, for thee my Lord for thee, power hath descended forth from thy hand, that our feet may swiftly ca! rry out thy command. We shall flow a river forth to thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be. In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti.

Boondock Saints is a great movie. I searched it on google and got this website…?

    WYATT FUCKING EARP.! …. I’ll Have a Coke….!

this was the best movie ever. I love both the brothers and I can’t wait untill All Saints Day is out. (Thats the sequal for those that don’t already know that.)

when does “all saints day” come out in the cinema’s?

The Boondocks Saints was awsome and so was their theme music, it was slightly dark but it had plenty of humourous moments in it. All saints day should be an awsome movie.
