One of my favorite ‘icebreaker’ games is when everyone comes up with three statements about themselves, two of which are true, and one a lie. The rest of the group must determine which is the lie. Simple, but lots of fun. I figured I’d start things off this morning for everyone:
- I can touch type with my toes.
- I’ve heard Jars of Clay cover “Jenny from the Block” by J-Lo
- I can shape my toungue into three of the following four letters: U,V,W,Z
I hope number 2 is the lie.

I hope you can do both one and three just as much as I hope choice two is a whopper… well, maybe not just as much.

Number 1 seems somewhere nearly outside the realm of physical possibility, but you do have really long toes… I’m going to go with Evan in just hoping that #2 is the lie. Nobody should cover that damn song.

Can someone clarify the meaning of touch type? I might be confused as to what it means thereby throwing off my answer.

It means that you can type without looking at the keys (thus type by feel instead of having to look at which key you want to press). I figure if you can type at all with your toes you can probably learn to touch type, but typing anything beyond one key per two seconds or so just sounds pretty impossible.

Jaime was a little thrown off by the ‘touch’ part of it as well. And that choice is, incidentally, the lie.
The post was also supposed to be an invitation for others to put in their three items, so I’ll officially end mine and by giving away the answer, hopefully encouraging some other entries.
Yes, #2 was… umm, interesting. It was done as a joke, only 30 seconds or so of the song, and I was honestly out of it enough (MTV/coolness-wise) that I didn’t even recognize the song and had to have someone else explain it to me. For once I was glad of ignorance.

Here’s mine…
I’m not allergic to peanuts.
I’m not allergic to walnuts.
I’m not allergic to tree nuts.

So…
many…
negatives…
The mind boggles.
I’m not positive about this, but walnuts ARE tree nuts, aren’t they? So that would mean that those two possibilities are axiomatically both true or false? So my vote is #1.

OK, so…
I prefer Coke over Pepsi.
I once walked into North Korea.
I am afraid of heights.

I could be allergic to a specific tree nut without being allergic to all tree nuts. Basically, IF walnuts are a type of tree nut then using my logic… 3 would definately be true, but the two are not necessarily both true or false.
# 2 is the one that is false, for mine AND John’s.
John’s #3 is out due to –> http://wantingseed.com/weblog/2003/06/07/postlets.php (see point 2.)

Actually, my #1 is false. Pepsi kicks so much ass it hurts, and I did walk into North Korea once (granted, it was only about five feet and I jumped right back, but I have the photograph to prove it).
