Why is it that all new bands these days a “The” somethings?

I was wondering that the other day too when I noticed that there are 20 bands in my playlist that start with “The”. Not the first letter I think to look under to find most of the bands either….

And *the* beach boys, *the* drifters, *the* eagles et al. :p

Maybe it’s a cyclical thing. Because “The” bands seemed to fall out of fashion some time ago, after being popularized, and now they’re back…

Just like punk, rock and stuff went out of fashion and now they’re “back in.”
