So I’m done with my week of craming and studying. For better or worse I’m done with my test and I’ll find out the results in 4-6 weeks. I’m not sure why in the world it takes so long since it’s only 250 multiple choice answers on a scantron, but apparently they’re a bit slow. Of course, for the past few days I’ve been getting more and more sick. Of studying for the test, and well, sick. I think it’s just a cold, which is good, because I don’t think it impacted my test score too much, but all in all, it’s irritating. Irritating my throat, my eyes, and my sinuses. So tomorrow we’re taking a break. Given that I put in more than 40 hours this past week studying and taking the test on the weekend and all, work was gracious enough to give me an extra day of vacation tomorrow. Weather permitting, we’ll be going to Busch Gardens to take advantage of the good deal they’ve got going now where you buy a one day ticket and get unlimited admission for the rest of the year. Not a bad deal, as long as we go at least one other time.
Anyway, I’m done, and I realized yet again why I’m glad I’m done with school. It wasn’t too bad while I was doing it, but in the end testing and studying and the whole classroom thing just isn’t for me. Though I did have a lot of fun teaching the class the crypto section of the exam. Unfortunately, I’d have a hard time teaching and classes without going back as a student more. Oh well.
Though, to be fair to school, I don’t think even during really intense finals weeks I’ve had that much studying to do. But yeah, it does sort of blow… I’m really glad I’m about done (and I get to go teach, so I win twice!)

If you’re getting sick or a bad cold…get a z-pak.
Left by Aristotle on June 24th, 2003
Except if he has a cold, a Z-pak won’t do anything except give him the runs. For 3 days straight.
Colds are viral. Z-paks are antibiotics. No workee. It will, however, clear up chlamydia.

And Jordan is certainly in the risk group for chlamydia.

What are you talking about? Z-Paks don’t give you the runs at all, at least not with anybody in my experience that I’ve talked to. If he’s got a very bad cold that includes sore throat, inflamed glands, and all the other etc’s, then a Z-Pak could be on it’s way. It is used to take care of these things you know.

Um, sorry, but the #1 side effect reported by adults taking Zithromax are gastrointestinal, with “diarrhea/loose stools, nausea, and abdominal pain being the most frequently reported.”

Maybe if those people had something to eat, rather than taking it on an empty stomach, then they wouldn’t have that problem. That’s true with most antibiotics. You’re welcome.

Seriously, I’ve never had any experience in 7 years hearing people have ANY problem with a z-pak. Of course, there are side effects with EVERY drug.

What are you people talking about?

I wouldn’t worry about, not much worth reading, this was back in the days when comments were much more likely to completely derail from whatever train of thought the post itself had started.

Z-pak gave me SEVERE diarrhea and i have been done taking it for 6 days now and I STILL have diarrea. I do not trust these drugs…you all need to pay attention to the fact that NO ONE knows the long term affect of these horrible antibiotics that GREEDY MONEY HUNGRY MONGROLS are prescribing their doctors (and giving them big rewards for prescribing them to us—cruises, cash awards) to give to us. And for ARISTOTLE who posted that people should eat with antibiotics..DUH!! you think no food with the drug is what causes this? you’re an idiot. you obviously know nothing about this. thank you.

I took z-pak a month before and still haven’t got normal stools. Having diarrhea for more than 3 weeks now. I did eat well. My original problems for which I went to the doctor is gone. But got worse diarrhea.

Why would you be taking Zithromax for 6 days when it is a 5 day medication. The only reason it would give you stomack problems is is you have taken it without food, It is very rare that even without food that this would happen. i would go see a doctor because there is obviously another problem.

I have been on this medicine for four days now and I have had terrible nausea and absolutely HORRIBLE burning diarrhea that I have never experienced before. I have one more pill to go and I am going to need pepto or something to help with the loose stool because I do not want to experience that kind of pain again tomorrow. And by the way I ate breakfast with it so food did not make a difference for me. I hope my doctor gets fire diarrhea.

Someone that takes Zithromax has a bad Pharmacy tech. Like mine!
Walgreens says take as directed, then does not tell you that you have to take 2 pills the first day as a loading dose, then 1 pill per day after that. I noticed this after taking one pill the first day, and reading the small print on the tear away paper on the back of the Z-Pack. I complained, they called my doctor and called me back in five minutes, amazing. Well maybe not since they were at fault. Anyway, my Dr. told them to have me take the loading dose on the second day and come to the pharmacy for 1 extra pill to complete the regimen, for free of course. The Pharmacist, not the tech, said Walgreens will change it’s labeling policy due to this error.
