Instead of working this week, I’ll be studying at a training seminar for a certification I’ve been planning on getting for a while for my job. We’ll be staying in a hotel for a week. Of course, there’s a network connection in the hotel room that work gets to pay for, so I’ll be on and off-line a bit, but mostly I’ll be studying a lot. The final test is next Sunday, and it’s 250 multiple choice questions. They give you 6 hours to take it, but if it takes me more than 4, I’m getting slow in my old age.
Eating near the hotel at a BK, we realized we weren’t in the side of Orlando I’m used to. Ever person behind the counter was speaking spanish, and all dozen or so of the customers eating there (including the mother breast feeding her chlid) were as well. Strange being the minority at such a random place and time.
The student who runs the TV program at my school asked me to design a T-shirt for him as a favor. In an attempt to add levity, my first few designs I propsed were preposterously loaded with other meanings: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.

Colin: I like the designs, esp the humor.
Jordan: Your high school wasn’t like that? At my first high school (Seminole High School) half spoke English, and half spoke Ebonics. At my second high school (Lake Brantley) half spoke English, and half spoke Spanish. High school was a huge change, I think there were like 20 minority students in my 8th grade class of 400, though I did go to a very diverse elementry school.

It certainly won’t be the last. Have you read the stuff recently about how widespread comment spam is getting. Perhaps this weekend I’ll implement some of the measures that people have developed to combat it.

I got comment spammed Tuesday. Five times this guy wrote that I had a nice site, and that I should check out his site… he was a viagra vendor.

There is a really cool blacklist system for MovableType that I will most likely install this weekend. I got another spam (deleted) this morning, and if trends continue they’re going to come pretty heavy in the future.

Dang, very nice. Yeah, I deleted another as well. Now that they’re coming, they’re coming hot and fast. Plus, I looked into the source, and they appear to be drone machiens that are a part of the recent trend of spammers to use hacker like ddos rings. Pain my personal and professional arse.
