In an attempt to create a single, worthwhile post, I have been left with a number of little things. Each of these little things, these postlets, are not enough to write hundreds of words on but, at the same time, I hate to throw them on in the garbage heap of mistimed ideas. So…
- I’ve been thinking about the ultimate weblogging tool. Others have been, as well. In thinking about this, I’ve begun thinking about the ultimate micro-CMS, one that would allow the maintenance and development of a rather complex website totally via the browser. It’s the type of thing I might be driven to code, if for no other reason but to simplify keeping things updated while on the road.
- I hate ladders. Apparently, I’m slightly afraid of heights. I’m not paralyzed, I’m just slightly uncomfortable, particularly during ascent and descent.
- One of my good friends cannot figure out how I can reconcile my fear of heights and a love for flying (she happens to be afraid of flying but not afraid of heights). I remind her that while airborne I’m exactly zero feet from the cabin floor, but while on a ladder I am many feet above the ground.
- Justine Henin-Hardenne is reasonably hot. Not Anna Kournikova hot, but at least Justine can, you know, actually play tennis!
- I found out today that my dad was at the 1978 Kentucky Derby in which Affirmed beat Alydar by 1.5 lengths on his way to winning the Triple Crown. I’m not sure how I didn’t know this before, but I didn’t.
Good night, and happy Saturday.
That’s pretty amazing about your dad. Any information on how exactly that happened? Seems kinda out of place for him…

Well, he’s always like horse racing (it’s a sport, isn’t it? :). My great uncle lived in Lexington at the time, and somehow hooked my dad and a buddy of his up with some tickets. They just decided to drive up, I guess. My dad did crazy stuff like that back in the day.
