First, feel free to get a little history.
I really appreciate all the comments from everyone. I’ve definitely been working on all aspects of it even just this past week and am pretty excited that it’s been going well so far. I’ve kept up with the pushups (hit 50 last night, which was nice), and have played tennis, and run this week as well, with another tennis game planned today after work. I had originally typed this post up days ago with a description of the perscription for health I planned on taking:
3-4 days/ week run at least 2-3 miles in the morning (increase distance as able). Pushups at night, situps, ab work outs as well, and working out in the gym MWF after work for 30-45 minute.
Before I submitted it, however, my officemate (the most cut and overall in shape person I probably know) commented that it was a bit too regimented. He pointed out that I needed to make sure I was doing something I enjoyed, otherwise it would be extremely hard for me to follow the schedule. So instead of working out today, I’ve been playing tennis, instead of forcing myself right into any routine, I’ve been easing into different activities, and so far it’s doing well indeed. I’ve maintained just the right amount of soreness every day that tells me I’m still pushing my limits without really killing myself or going overboard.
Who knows. Maybe I’ll eventually be as cut as my little brother. For those of you who haven’t seen him in a couple of years, you’d be exceedingly surprised.
“Exceedingly surprised” = “midly torn”
