My dad has a ‘thing’ for shoes. I’m not really sure where this strange obsession began, but at least it’s only a specific type of shoes. He buys running shoes the way some people buy Catcher in the Rye. This works well for me, since I haven’t bought tennis shoes in five or six years. I simply ask my dad for some hand-me-downs every time I need a pair. This past weekend when we visited for my brother’s graduation, he offered me a pair that looked nearly brand new when I asked. We went to get groceries that night, and found another pair of shoes, exactly the same as the ‘almost new’ ones in the trunk, except they were actually brand new. Were they the shoes he currently runs in? No, he has another, nicer, pair for that. So what were they exactly? I’m not sure, except they’re mine now. And they are really good running shoes. He has good taste, though it scares me that he likely spends more on shoes than I spend on gadgets and watches (or both) combined.
I have like 10 pairs of shoes. I currently want a new pair of black sketchers cuz my current pair rubs my heels wrong, and i want a new pair of basketball shoes because all mine are worn out.

Laks! That watch actually makes consider buying and wearing a time piece.

I’m like a girl when it comes to shoes. I have so many pairs…and you’ve got to keep them fresh. None of that wear and tear junk going on, unless of course they are a knock around pair. You’ve got to look fresh when you go out. Different shoes for different outfits.

hmmm, I haven’t bought new shoes in a long time. hey, can I get a pair of shoes… I wear an 8 1/2 in men… if these are bigger, I’ll wear big socks… *grin*

Slightly bigger; I wear a 9 or 9.5 in men’s, and these are usually a tad big for me. 10 would probably require some _really_ thick socks.
